I come from Scotland and I do not like how it is so cold. They get snow there in winter and they have lots of cool castles. My mum lived in Scotland and we went there for a hoilday. We loved it ,our hotel was so cool. When we were there we went on trips from place to place. We went to most of the castles and we brought a Scottish bear.
i had my birthday in scotland and i loved the great veiws in scotland i hope i can go back soon!!!!!!!!!

The Twits
The twits is my favourite book. I like how the drawings make the words stand out and I also like all of the detail in the book, it is so fun to read. The food in the beard is gross but it makes the story interesting and the cruel things they do to each other like stretch each other or lengthen their walking sticks and make their food have worms in it.

Our topic was Responsibility.
I have lots of responsibilities e.g making this wiki page.
I learned that responsibility is a big range of things.
Most of the responsibility comes from school and work.
It was cool seeing how many things we do in a day require responsibility.
You should do it as well.
RESPONSIBILITY IS ALSO LOOKING AFTER YOUR SELF.
Camp
Year 6 camp was so fun. We did every thing we liked. We got to stay in dorms and sleep on bunk beds. We had to get up at 7:00 in the morning to do fitness. It was cool though because we got to dance to an up beat song to get us going in the morning for fitness. We also got to run across the beach and that night the waves were crashing and one of the girls at camp ask one of the teachers to turn the waves off.
The cool things we did were stack'em which is with milk crates. You stack them up and they wabble and you when you fall your crates will fall down.
There was also tree climbing where you climb a 100 foot pine and you can see everything up there.
Abseiling is where you are on a wall and you are clipped on. You go down at a 90 degree angle and there is a drop and you can do fairy fingers, they hold you while you are doing it. It can get a bit of a frightening. and we had to get points in our group.
Term 2 Topic
Our topic is change.
Change is important.
Here are some questions you can answer about change:
What would happen if we could speed up or slow down change? And what would you like it to do, speed up or slow down?
What creates change?
What is change?
What does change look like?
I think change is to do with the whole world. We could be helping someone and that may change the way they think of the way they do things. They could clean up the world or help the world by not putting their rubbish in it. It could be doing a little thing but it will make a big change.
Water wise
Water wise for us started at 8.30. It was so cool to get to the place because I could not wait to start. It was amazing getting to sail and it was my first time sailing by myself. By the time we got in the boats we had learned how to sail and turn the boat and it was funny how you pulled it the opposite way than you would like to go. This was hard getting it right. Some people fell off there boat and they had to swim their boat back in to shore. We are not doing it this term so we are looking forward to it in Term 4.
Art
This week we have been doing art. We have started doing colour mixing and we thought we could link it in our writing for Anzac Day. You can do it for any holiday, all you need is yellow, blue, red, white and black. Choose what colour you like and look at the colour wheel. You match your choosen colour with the colour on the colour wheel then you make that colour, you fold the page in half. Get your paint and get the colour on your paint brush and do a strip on one half getting whiter down to the end and darker when you get to the top of your page. You can do the same on the other side but with a complimentary colour. Then you add a black silhouette cut out of black paper which you can glue on over the painted background. We have written out our Anzac poems and will mount these to go with our Anzac Art.
We have also done pastel art.
We chose our own kiwi animal. I choose a penguin. We firstly sketched it roughly. Then we looked at our picture closely and tried figuring out what colours we need. We learned how to blend colours so we could make it look like the real art work and you mostly would need whittle to blend it altogether. For the finishing touch you would go around the out side with black and it would make it stand out.
sea lions. I choose sea lions to be my animal that i learn about and it is importent we dont litter beacuse it gets stuck in the tummy of the sealion and it is hard to eat so they can not eat and the die it happens to every sea animal and they also get stuck in fishing nets it is a big problem because they think it food and they drown we can help save them by cleaning the sea and not littering and just a little thing can do big things and that will help animals and here is some facts.
they travle miles to get food and they breed in the treances of nz
